Madhubani: The newly constructed building of the Sakhi One Stop Centre, aimed at providing support and protection to women facing violence and crisis situations, was inaugurated by Madhubani district magistrate Anand Sharma on Sunday.Operated under the Women and Child Development Corporation, Bihar, the centre offers a range of services under one roof, including medical assistance, legal aid, police support, help with FIR and DIR registration, psycho-social counselling, and temporary shelter.Addressing the programme, district programme officer Lalita Kumari said the centre is designed to provide immediate assistance to women affected by domestic violence, harassment, human trafficking and other forms of abuse. She termed the initiative a significant step towards women’s empowerment.Sharma urged women in distress to approach the Sakhi One Stop Centre without hesitation and avail of the support and govt assistance available there. He said the new building would improve access to services and help raise awareness about women’s rights, safety and welfare schemes.Rural SP Shivam Dhakad, ASP Rashmi, district public relations officer Jyoti Rani, district mission coordinator Anjani Kumar Jha, centre administrator Sushma Kumari and other officials were present at the event.
