Hazaribag: On the directions of Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar, a team from Barkatha police station conducted an awareness campaign among families of the Birhor PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) at Kosmabadahi Tola on Sunday.During the interaction, police discussed children’s education, superstition, substance abuse and sanitation with the villagers.Parents were encouraged to send their children to school regularly and monitor their studies. Police stressed that education was crucial to improving the future of families and the wider community.Villagers were also advised to reject superstitious practices, adopt a rational outlook and seek appropriate solutions to their problems. Such beliefs, police said, could leave people vulnerable to exploitation and harm.The team highlighted the adverse effects of substance abuse and urged residents to stay away from intoxicants while ensuring that young people did not fall prey to addiction.Kumar said villagers were also encouraged to maintain cleanliness, avoid unhygienic conditions and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
