Ramgarh: Two minor brothers, aged 10 and 15, died on Thursday while their mother is in a critical condition after the family reportedly sought treatment from a local faith healer instead of approaching a hospital.The incident occurred in a village under Patratu block, where the two brothers and their mother had been suffering from fever for the past three days. According to local residents, the family allegedly called an Ojha-Guni (faith healer) for treatment rather than seeking medical care.Officials said the condition of the two brothers deteriorated rapidly during the course of the treatment. They were later taken to Ramgarh Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared both of them brought dead. Their mother, whose condition remains serious, was referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), Ranchi, for advanced treatment.Police and administrative officials rushed to the village after receiving information about the incident to initiate probe.Ramgarh civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said the three family members had been suffering from fever for several days.“Instead of consulting a doctor or visiting a health facility, the family sought treatment from a suspected Ojha-Guni. We have started an inquiry and a medical team will visit the village to ascertain the nature of the illness. At present, we cannot confirm the cause of death are being examined,” he said.
