Bokaro: A day after his grandmother approached Bokaro deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha seeking employment for her grandson, who is deaf and mute, 22-year-old Abhishek Kumar, a resident of Sector 12 area on Thursday received a job offer from a private company.Abhishek, an Intermediate pass student, had been struggling to find work to support his family. On Wednesday, his grandmother, Fenkni Devi, raised the issue during the district administration’s “Hum Aapko Sunte Hain… Lok Samvad“ public grievance programme and requested assistance for her grandson.Acting swiftly, the DC directed officials to explore suitable opportunities and contacted industries in the district. Following the intervention, Sundaram Steel Pvt Ltd in Balidih Industrial Area offered him a job and handed over an appointment letter. General manager of Sundaram Steel, R P Sharma said, “The company has appointed him as assistant administrator in their guest house.”An emotional Fenkni today thanked the administration for the prompt action. “This is not just a job, it is the survival of my family,” she said.Jha said the objective of public outreach programmes was to ensure that genuine concerns receive timely attention. He urged companies and institutions to support persons with disabilities and underprivileged families.“Bringing positive change to the life of a needy family is the real success of both the administration and society,” the deputy commissioner said.
