Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday announced that three large grounds being developed along J P Ganga Path would be ready by March 2027 with one allotted to the city-based Dussehra Committee Trust and named “Ramlila Maidan”.Speaking after inaugurating the Shri Krishna Mahotsav-2026, themed “Kanha Ke Rang, Utsav Ke Sang”, at Gandhi Maidan, Samrat said Ramlila Mahotsav and Ravan Vadh events would be shifted from Gandhi Maidan to the proposed Ramlila Maidan near J P Ganga Path from next year. The new venue would provide a dedicated space for annual Dussehra celebrations.Samrat said the Dussehra Committee Trust had been organising Ramlila Mahotsav and Ravan Vadh at Gandhi Maidan since 1955 and had long sought a separate site. He said he had instructed the Patna district magistrate to complete the formalities. The ground would be handed over to the committee after its completion in March 2027, he added.Extending greetings on Shri Krishna Mahotsav, Samrat said Lord Krishna’s life conveyed the message of opposing injustice and ensuring the triumph of truth. Referring to the Mahabharata, he said Krishna made every effort to secure peace and asked the Kauravas to give the Pandavas only five villages, but war became unavoidable because of injustice.Samrat said Krishna’s message was clear: those who commit injustice are destined for destruction. Through the Gita, Krishna made Arjuna aware of duty and dharma, he said, adding the message continues to inspire society to follow truth and justice in public life.
