Jamshedpur: Roads damaged by rain in Adityapur industrial area, which are causing heavy vehicles to break down and leading to prolonged traffic congestions, will now be repaired.Regional authority of Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) on Friday identified four major turning points connecting the Tata-Kandra four-lane road with the Adityapur industrial area for immediate repairs.The identified locations are NIT College turning, Sudha Dairy turning, Adhunik Industries turning and Usha Martin turning. The decision was taken at a meeting between industry representatives and officials of JIADA Regional Authority at JIADA Bhawan on Friday.JIADA regional director Prem Ranjan assured industry representatives that the turning points would be repaired on priority along with other broken roads in the industrial area.“Roads across the entire industrial area will undergo comprehensive repair and expansion after monsoon. However, on an immediate basis, some critical stretches and damaged spots will be repaired to ease the movement of vehicles,” Ranjan told the delegation.Ranjan asked JIADA officials to prepare a detailed project report and initiate groundwork.Entrepreneurs who attended the meeting said the four identified turning points had virtually turned into choke points, particularly during the evening peak hours.“Massive traffic jams occur mostly between 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm as heavy vehicles frequently break down after getting stuck in potholes and craters at these turning points,” said Sameer Singh, an entrepreneur.They further said the badly damaged roads across the industrial area were creating difficulties for goods-carrying vans and trucks, which struggle to navigate through various lanes and industrial pockets.
