Dumka: A 28-year-old man was arrested near Koriyasa Maidan in Deoghar’s Kunda area on Thursday during an operation against suspected arms traffickers. The accused was identified as Suraj Kumar Singh, a resident of Rohini Parmeshwar Chowk under Jasidih police station limits. A search found a carbine machine gun concealed inside his vest, along with two magazines and a keypad mobile phone.Deoghar SP Praveen Pushkar said the raid followed a tip-off that arms traffickers were looking for buyers. Police cordoned off the area after noticing suspicious movement. Singh allegedly tried to flee but was chased and caught. A case has been registered under the Arms Act. Police said Singh was earlier accused in robbery and illegal liquor transportation cases in Banka.
