West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
Kolkata: A day after Dum Dum promoter Sujoy Majumdar met chief minister Suvendu Adhikari at his ‘Janatar Darbar’ and accused former Dum Dum Municipality vice-chairman Barun Natta of extortion and cheating, Natta was arrested with two aides — Nayanashis Das alias Johnnu and Sumanta Ghosh alias Laltu — on Thursday night.Majumdar alleged that Natta extorted around Rs 60 lakh from him between 2023 and 2024 and forced him to pay for an SUV. He later allegedly demanded another Rs 20 lakh and stopped work on Majumdar’s projects after he refused. The three were remanded in police custody for 7 days, said assistant public prosecutor Jadunath Ghosh.
