Bus catches fire on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
MUMBAI: A double-decker tourist bus caught fire at around 7.37am near the Khalapur Toll Plaza on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway while heading towards Pune.The incident occurred on the Pune-bound lane of the expressway within the jurisdiction of Rasayani police station.After receiving information, the local fire brigade and rescue teams from other agencies rushed to the spot. The blaze was later brought under control.Firefighting teams from the Panvel Municipal Corporation and Khopoli Municipal Council were also deployed to assist in the operations, police said.(With Agency Inputs)
