Hazaribag: A 29-year-old man was arrested with 20.98 gm of brown sugar in Chatra district on Tuesday, with police subsequently uncovering WhatsApp chats on his phone that may help trace a wider drug trafficking network.The accused, identified as Nirala Kumar of Lowagadda village under Sadar police station, was nabbed near Salimpur More under Gidhour police station during an anti-crime checking drive. Police also seized a motorcycle, phone, a silver chain and cash from his possession.Chatra SP Animesh Naithany said, “Kumar tried to flee after spotting the police team but was chased and apprehended.” The SP added that anti-drug operations are being intensified across the district and warned those involved in narcotics trafficking of strict action.
