Ranchi: A private security company’s office located on the third floor of a four-storey building in Ranchi’s Hinoo area was gutted on Monday, police said. The building houses several offices, including a private bank.Officer in-charge of the Doranda police station, Digvijay Singh, said, “The fire broke out between 8.30am and 9am. Four fire tenders doused the blaze in two hours. No casualty was reported. The exact amount of property loss is yet to be calculated. Preliminary investigation indicates an electrical short circuit caused the blaze.”Virender Singh, accountant at the security company, said, “On Monday morning we were informed by building staff about the fire as smoke emanated from the windows. It looks like the fire caught up due to an electrical short circuit, as there were no inflammable items inside the office. We have not yet assessed the amount of loss, but everything inside the office was gutted.”
