BPSC sanitation officer exam hit by malpractice; two held
A scandal has erupted in Patna as the BPSC assistant public sanitation exam was plagued by malpractice. Authorities apprehended both a candidate and a biometric staff member after the former was discovered with answer chits, which were reportedly supplied by the staffer.

Patna: A case of malpractice has surfaced in the assistant public sanitation and waste management officer exam conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).A woman biometric staff member and a candidate were arrested during the examination held in Patna on April 23. The arrested staff member was identified as Anshupriya from Vaishali, while the candidate was Raushan Kumar from Nalanda.During the exam at the A N College exam centre here, the invigilator found Raushan’s behaviour suspicious. On search, chits with answers to a specific series of question papers were recovered from him, police said on Friday.Centre superintendent Shailesh Kumar Singh filed a complaint with police in this regard. According to his application, on April 23, candidate Raushan Kumar, roll number 217939, was seated at seat number 59 in Hall Number 4 of the exam building. Seeing his suspicious activities, the invigilator searched him and recovered chits with the answers to the question paper.Invigilators Pramod Kumar and Rajeshwari Prasad Singh said the answer chits were provided by biometric machine operator Anshu Priya. The candidate was writing by keeping the answer chits under his copy when he was caught.Answer chits, OMR sheet, admit card, ID card, Aadhaar card and other documents were recovered from the candidate. Police are interrogating both to probe the network behind the case.Shri Krishna Puri SHO Jitendra Rana said, “Action was taken based on the centre superintendent’s application. A candidate was caught cheating at the centre yesterday. He was writing by keeping answer chits under his copy.”He further added that the chits were provided by a woman biometric machine staff member. The invigilators also saw her handing over the chits. Both have been arrested and further action is being taken based on interrogation.
