Ranchi: Student wings of CPI(ML) and BJP staged simultaneous protests at Albert Ekka Chowk here on Friday over their respective demands.CPI(ML)-affiliated All India Students Association (AISA) demanded the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak.Even as AISA was protesting, Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members reached the spot to burn the effigy of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. AISA state secretary Trilokinath said, “During the agitation, BJYM members were calling us anti-national. Police forces were stationed between the two groups to prevent any untoward incident.”BJYM state president Sashank Raj claimed that their protest was conducted peacefully, adding that there were no allegations and counter-allegations.Former RJD MLA Gautam Sagar Rana claimed that a framework for nationwide agitations on the NEET paper leak and the alleged flawed education system has been prepared, adding that PM Narendra Modi should immediately ask the education minister to resign. He said that the ongoing student agitation was not going to wear out, adding that if the education minister does not resign, the NDA govt would be thrown out. Rana said that the demands of students were not political. He added that question paper leaks have occurred 152 times in 10 years under the NDA but the govt was not serious over the issue.
