Ranchi: The health department on Wednesday launched a mobile application, ‘e-Sushrut-Jharkhand’, aimed at streamlining and digitising services across govt hospitals.The app developed under the Mukhyamantri Digital Health Yojana will reduce dependence of patients on physical medical records by enabling them to store, access and manage their health data digitally, officials said.The app was launched during a state-level day-long workshop here on Wednesday to strengthen the digital health ecosystem and to accelerate integration of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in all hospitals.The application aims to digitise all the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and public health centres by making them paperless.Through the app, patients can register at govt hospitals and get access to their prescriptions, lab reports, discharge certificates and other documents related to their treatment. The app aims to transform the health sector into a digitally driven, fast, and transparent and citizen-centric system, health officials said.Apart from the mobile application, two more digital services — the official website of ABDM-Jharkhand and ‘Sanchar Sathi’ app — were also launched on Wednesday.All 559 health centres across the state will be connected through Wi-Fi services through a single click on the ‘Sanchar Sathi’ app, officials said.During the event, additional chief secretary (helath) Ajoy Kumar Singh highlighted that the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) has been successfully implemented across all district hospitals and community health centres, while efforts are currently underway to integrate private hospitals into the platform as well.The ABDM initiative was launched in Jharkhand in 2024 with a comprehensive five-year plan and an outlay of Rs 299 crore.“Jharkhand digital health mission was launched to keep up the pace with digital transformation taking place across the globe in the health sector. In just two years, all govt district hospitals and community health centres have already implemented ABDM-enabled HMIS, while many private hospitals in the state are yet to get onto the platform,” Singh added.
