Bokaro: Bokaro district administration is strengthening its campaign against malnutrition by expanding the e-telemedicine and Mobile Nutrition Van programme in remote rural areas.The initiative connects children and mothers with specialist doctors through digital healthcare support, reducing the need for families to travel long distances for consultation and follow-up care.The programme is being implemented in Gomia and Peterwar blocks and currently covers 27 Anganwadi centres and nearby villages. So far, 653 people have received expert medical consultation through the telemedicine system, while 828 children have undergone nutrition screening.Deputy commissioner (DC) Ajay Nath Jha said the administration is using technology to bridge the healthcare gap in rural communities. “The fight against malnutrition is not just a govt programme, it is an effort to secure the future of our society. Every child should receive timely healthcare and every mother should have access to proper nutrition and medical support,” he said.Jha also stressed the importance of community participation in tackling malnutrition.
