Bokaro: Police personnel on Wednesday rolled out a campaign to verify the identities of tenants in Sector police station limits of the city. The initiative, officials said, is aimed at collecting details of tenants and improving surveillance to prevent criminal activities. In the past, there were incidents when police found cyber gangs, criminals and Maoists living in houses on rent.As part of the drive, police personnel are conducting door-to-door visits to verify tenants and gather essential information from residents and house owners. The police have urged landlords to cooperate with the verification process and visit Sector-4 police station to complete tenant verification formalities.Bokaro SP Nathu Singh Meena said, “Tenant verification is an important step towards strengthening the security network of the city. The cooperation of house owners and citizens will help police identify suspicious elements and prevent possible criminal activities.”He added, “People should remain alert and immediately inform the police if they notice any suspicious activities or any unknown person staying in their locality. The identity of the informer will be kept completely confidential.”Police have appealed to residents to share information about suspicious tenants by contacting Sector-4 police station on 9431706428. The department emphasised that public participation plays a crucial role in creating a safe and secure society. “Community cooperation and vigilance are the strongest tools for maintaining peace and security,” police officials said.
