Delhi high court lawyer jumps to death from Connaught Place hotel

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old advocate allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 15th floor of a four-star hotel in central Delhi on Sunday evening.According to police, information regarding the incident was received at Connaught Place police station around 9.15 pm. A police team rushed to the spot and identified the man as advocate Rajesh Singh.He was immediately taken to Lady Hardinge Medical College, where doctors declared him brought dead.Singh, a resident of southwest Delhi’s Mohan Garden area, had checked into the hotel on Saturday evening at around 6.30 pm. During inquiry, it was revealed that the advocate was practising at the Delhi High Court.The crime team and forensic science laboratory officials inspected the scene and collected relevant evidence. CCTV footage from the hotel premises has also been examined as part of the investigation.Police said the body has been preserved at the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Statements of family members have been recorded, and they have not expressed suspicion of any foul play in the incident.
