Dhanbad: The Dhanbad Police on Saturday received 40 four-wheelers from the state govt in a bid to enhance the mobility of police personnel and enable faster response to emergencies, crime scenes and law-and-order situations.With this, the Dhanbad police has over 200 four-wheelers operational in 57 police stations and outposts across the district.Flagging off the 40 vehicles from the Police Centre (Police Line), deputy commissioner (DC) Aditya Ranjan said, “An adequate number of operational vehicles is one of the prerequisites for effective policing.”Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar said, “The latest addition is part of a sustained effort to modernise the district police force. Improved transportation facilities would reduce police response time, strengthen law-and-order management and make the pursuit and arrest of criminals more effective.”A total of 40 four-wheelers were allotted for the Dhanbad police on March 16. Besides, 70 motorcycles were added to the district police fleet on September 23, 2025, and 45 bikes on March 20 this year. Another 30 motorcycles were given to the department under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity by a corporate. Moreover, 50 bikes are expected soon,” he added.
