Patna: A joint front of doctors and health workers on Sunday gave the state govt three days to act on salary withholding over biometric attendance and security concerns at health facilities, warning of “strict measures” if their demands were not met.Bihar Health Services Association, Dental Doctors Association, AYUSH Doctors Service Association and Desi Chikitsa Seva Sangh (AYUSH) raised the issues at a meeting at IMA hall in Patna. They opposed withholding salaries in districts including Araria, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Gopalganj and Bhojpur and demanded their immediate release.The front also sought effective security arrangements following alleged incidents of misbehaviour, threats and attacks on health workers. It condemned the Aug 21 attack on Dr Divakar Pandey at the Additional Primary Health Centre in Bhairavganj, West Champaran. Pandey was allegedly attacked with a hammer and suffered a serious leg injury.The front demanded “concrete and satisfactory” action within three days, warning of further measures if its demands were not met. It said the health department and state govt would be responsible for any situation arising from such action.
