Govt all set tolaunch 211 new degree colleges

Patna: The higher education department has intensified preparations to begin academic sessions in 211 newly established degree colleges across Bihar from July 1 under the govt’s Saat Nishchay-3 programme.The initiative aims to expand access to higher education in blocks that currently do not have degree colleges. Of the state’s 534 blocks, 211 lack affiliated or constituent degree colleges.To bridge this gap, the govt has directed that teaching commence in the new institutions from the upcoming academic session. The process of appointing principals, faculty members and non-teaching staff is under way while arrangements are also being made for infrastructure and other essential facilities.Higher education director N K Agrawal said all necessary steps were being taken to ensure classes start on schedule.
