The facility is located at Silam, around 4 km from Gumla town.In Sept, 2025, too, two inmates escaped in a similar way. They were later caught after 10 days from Dumardih village.“The trio, first tore our bedsheet, made it like a rope. They caught it in hooks before climbing up the wall and fled,” Gumla deputy superintendent of police Birendra Toppo said after visiting the home for a probe.“More than 60 juveniles from three districts of Gumla, Simdega and Lohardaga are lodged in this observation home. Investigation is underway to ascertain the negligence on part the security guards posted for duty there. Police are trying to arrest the inmates,” Toppo said.
