Guv hails Shoshit Seva Sangh for empowering Musahar children through education

Patna: Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain on Thursday lauded Shoshit Seva Sangh (SSS) for empowering Musahar children through education at its 20th Founders Day celebrations at Shoshit Samadhan Kendra.Calling SSS a shining example of education-led empowerment, the governor said its students could compete with those from the best schools in Patna. He also praised the institution for carrying forward the vision of its founder, Padma Shri awardee J K Sinha.Founded in 2005, SSS runs a free CBSE-affiliated English-medium residential school for Musahar children, providing education, accommodation, healthcare and career guidance. The institution serves over 550 children from all 38 districts of Bihar and has helped more than 150 first-generation learners complete schooling.The event featured cultural performances, including an English adaptation of Hamlet, dance recitals and folk presentations. SSS chairman Shreevardhan Sinha said the organisation’s goal was to transform entire communities through education.Traffic management meet at NDA: Notre Dame Academy (NDA), in association with its Parents Teachers Association (PTA), held a meeting with Pariwahan Mitras to improve traffic management around the school.Principal Sr Mary Neha SND appreciated their voluntary efforts in regulating traffic during school hours and suggested deployment at key congestion points for smoother movement. Discussions focused on enhancing road safety and ensuring a secure environment for students, parents, staff and commuters.Academic talks at AN College: The political science department of AN College organised a two-day Academic Talks programme featuring lectures on contemporary national and international issues.Prof Naved Jamal of Jamia Millia Islamia spoke on India’s evolving foreign policy, while Prof Ravi Ranjan of Zakir Husain Delhi College discussed democracy, ethics and welfare. Vijay Verma of Dayal Singh College delivered a lecture on contemporary international affairs.The programme was inaugurated by principal Prof Ratna Amrit. Head of the department Prof Binod Kumar Jha, faculty members and students attended the event, with students actively participating in discussions.
