Ranchi: Jharkhand high court on Tuesday directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to produce the original OMR sheet of a NEET-UG 2026 candidate who has alleged a discrepancy in the tabulation of his marks.Justice Ananda Sen directed the agency to submit the OMR sheet of petitioner Lakshya Singh in a sealed cover.Singh appeared for the NEET-UG re-test held in Ranchi on June 21. According to his petition, the scanned OMR sheet and recorded responses uploaded by the NTA indicated that he had scored 660 out of 720 marks — 145 in physics, 164 in chemistry and 351 in biology.However, the final result declared by the NTA on July 16 showed his score as only 116, the petitioner claimed. His counsel argued that the sharp variation indicated a possible error in data entry or tabulation.The additional solicitor general has also been informed about the order. The matter will next be heard on Aug 4.
