Humid day, moderate rain next week

New Delhi: Parts of the city saw drizzle that led to humid weather. The heat index at 2.30 pm was 46.5 degrees celsius against the actual temperature of 34 degrees celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32-34 degrees celsius Sunday.On Saturday, base station Safdarjung recorded 35 degrees celsius, a notch above normal. The minimum was recorded at 27.9 degrees celsius.The base station saw a trace of rain, which means it was too low to record, while Palam logged 0.4mm, Lodhi Road 1.1mm and Ayanagar 3.5mm.The weather department expects light to very light rain till Monday and moderate rain thereafter. However, no colour-coded warning has been issued.“The upper air cyclonic circulation over southeast Himachal Pradesh and neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists. The western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Himachal Pradesh and neighbourhood at 5.8 km above mean sea level persists. No significant change in maximum temperatures during the next seven days,” stated IMD.The air quality continued to be satisfactory, with an AQI reading of 80 against 77 a day earlier.
