Daltonganj: Ahead of the first phase of census in Jharkhand from Friday starting with 15-day self-enumeration process, officials have cautioned people to be alert from falling prey to cyber cons. This time, entire census process is to be done digitally.“Cyber fraudsters may try to con in the first phase of houselisting of census by sending fake links. We appeal all to be cautious,” principal district census officer cum Palamu DC Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat said.
The first phase of the houselisting will start on May 16 and conclude on June 14. From May 1 to 15, self-enumeration will take place enabling people to file their details digitally on their own.“People should keep in mind, during none of these two processes, there is any disclosure of Aadhar Card number, PAN and bank account of people. If anyone asks for those, just be cautious and report to the concerned authorities,” he said. “Similarly, there is no need for any OTP during these processes,” he added.After the first phase of the entire process, the houseless households will be listed later, probably in Feb 2027 when head count will begin.The houseless households are those who have no roof and spend days and nights in hume pipes, under the road bridge, railway station, bus stand.District census officer Kundan Kumar said, “A fleet of 3,816 enumerators and 722 supervisors will be pressed for the first phase of Census operations beginning May 16.”
