Ranchi: The Jharkhand govt on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Google LLC to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) with its health department to modernise the state’s hospitals, medical colleges, and rural health centres to ensure high-quality care reaches every citizen, regardless of their location.The initiative aims to transition Jharkhand’s healthcare system into a more efficient, transparent, and world-class model. By leveraging AI, the govt intends to provide citizens with faster diagnostics, superior treatment protocols, and enhanced medical services.State health minister Irfan Ansari said, “Providing the people of Jharkhand with better, faster, accessible, and modern healthcare services remains the government’s top priority. Through the integration of AI technology, the state’s healthcare system will be given a new direction, enabling patients to receive timely diagnostics, superior treatment, and transparent services.”“The ultimate goal is to ensure that every citizen receives high-quality healthcare. The introduction of AI technology will bring about significant changes across the state’s hospitals, medical colleges, and health centres. This will make patient diagnostics and treatment processes faster and more effective than ever before, while also aiding in the timely detection of critical illnesses,” he added.Doctors and medical staff will receive modern technological support, thereby enhancing their overall operational efficiency. Furthermore, health data management will become more accurate and transparent, and efforts to extend superior healthcare services to rural areas will be significantly strengthened. Research, training, and health infrastructure development are also expected to gain fresh momentum through this partnership, the minister added.
