Ranchi: Building on Jharkhand’s participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos earlier this year, chief minister Hemant Soren will lead a two-day national stakeholders’ consultation in New Delhi on July 8 and 9 to unveil the road map for ‘Jharkhand Vision 2050’ and chart a long-term strategy for industrial, technological and tourism-led growth.Jointly organised by the information technology, industries and tourism departments, the event aims to accelerate global investments, foster public-private partnerships, generate employment and position Jharkhand as an emerging destination for technology, manufacturing and tourism.The consultation will bring together policymakers, investors, industry leaders, technology experts and institutional stakeholders from India and abroad, the information and public relations department said in a statement. “The govt will use the platform to seek stakeholder feedback before finalising a series of key policies expected to shape the state’s development trajectory over the coming decades,” it added.The first day will focus on digital governance, information technology and artificial intelligence. Among the key unveilings is the Draft AI Policy 2026, aimed at creating an enabling ecosystem for AI adoption across governance, healthcare, education, agriculture and industry. The policy seeks to attract investments in emerging technologies, promote research and skill development, encourage innovation and position Jharkhand as a hub for AI-driven enterprises and startups.The govt will also present its vision for strengthening digital governance and IT infrastructure through IT parks, data-driven public services and technology partnerships. A special session, ‘Shaping Jharkhand’s AI Future’, will deliberate on the draft policy framework and opportunities in the sector. Officials said the IT department is expecting to sign MOUs with private companies during the event.The second day will focus on investment promotion, industrial development and tourism. Key draft policies include the Jharkhand Investment Promotion Policy 2026, which targets the creation of 25,000 jobs by attracting investments of over Rs 1 lakh crore across manufacturing and services sectors, along with ease-of-doing-business reforms and sector-specific incentives.The Jharkhand Tourism Policy 2026 will seek to unlock the cultural, religious, ecotourism and adventure tourism potential through private investment and infrastructure development.The govt will also unveil the Jharkhand Textile Policy 2026, designed to boost textile and apparel manufacturing, strengthen local supply chains, enhance value addition and create employment. According to the draft policy, the state aims to attract investments exceeding Rs 1,000 crore and generate more than 20,000 jobs.In addition, draft JIADA regulations and a public-private partnership (PPP) policy concept paper will be presented before stakeholders. “The proposed JIADA reforms are expected to streamline industrial land allotment and facilitate industrial expansion, while the PPP framework aims to attract private participation in infrastructure and public service projects,” an official said, adding that the govt will also launch new digital portals and invite stakeholder feedback before finalising the policy frameworks.
