CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin on Thursday slammed the TVK govt over its agricultural budget, alleging that it ignored the drought situation and failed to provide relief for delta farmers affected by the impact on kuruvai cultivation.“Instead of speaking about drought, the agricultural budget was used to shower praise on the chief minister. It has nothing for delta farmers whose kuruvai cultivation has been affected and who are waiting for the govt’s helping hand,” Stalin said in a post on X.Stalin alleged that the budget focused on rebranding existing schemes instead of addressing the concerns of farmers.“The budget ended up as yet another exercise in renaming schemes. Does the govt think merely pasting the ‘Vetri’ label on schemes launched by the previous DMK govt is enough?” Stalin questioned.He said DMK MLAs would raise farmers demands throughout the assembly session and press the govt to provide solutions.
