MUMBAI: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a BMC junior engineer Niravkumar Chunilal Jaisur, 43,worker Vijay Ramesh Patil, 46, for demanding a bribe of ₹ ₹60,000 bribe from a bakery to continue his bakery business and avoid action against it.and a worker attached to the K/West Ward office in Andheri West for allegedly demanding and accepting a ₹60,000 bribe from a bakery operator.According to the ACB, worker Vijay Ramesh Patil, 46, initially demanded ₹70,000 from the 50-year-old complainant on behalf of himself and Junior Engineer Niravkumar Chunilal Jaisur, 43, to allow him to continue his bakery business and avoid action against it.During verification, Jaisur allegedly negotiated the amount to ₹60,000. In the subsequent trap, Patil was caught accepting ₹60,000 near the ground-floor lift of the K/West Ward office. Jaisur was taken into custody from his sixth-floor office.The ACB seized two mobile phones from Jaisur. A mobile phone and ₹40,820 cash were recovered from Patil, while another ₹2.37 lakh was found in his bag.
