Nalanda police rescue 3 minor girls from Rajasthan, arrest 4

Biharsharif: Police have busted an inter-state child trafficking racket and rescued three minor girls from Rajasthan, while arresting four accused in Nalanda district.The case came to light after a complaint was lodged on April 9 at Rahui police station regarding the disappearance of two minor girls from a village. Acting swiftly, police launched an investigation and traced their location to Bikaner in Rajasthan, where both were safely rescued.“During the operation, Rajesh Kumar and his wife Anjali Kumari were arrested from Bikaner. Their interrogation led police to Nalanda, where two local accused — Dhanvanti Devi alias Shobha of Balchand Bigha under Noor Sarai police station, and her associate Purushottam Kumar of Prabhubigha under Manpur police station — were arrested near Brahmkund in Rajgir,” said Sadar SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal on Monday.During the crackdown, police also rescued another minor girl from Raipur district in Chhattisgarh. Investigations revealed the girls were trafficked and sold for Rs 3 lakh. The SDPO said, “The operation involved technical surveillance and coordinated efforts of several teams. Further investigation is underway to uncover the wider network.”
