Alok Kumar/ TNNGaya: The NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination was conducted at 12 centres across Gaya district on Sunday amid tight security, closure of coaching institutes and strict surveillance around examination venues.The district administration deployed 28 static magistrates, 12 women static magistrates, 12 mobile patrol magistrates and four zonal magistrates to ensure the examination was conducted smoothly and without any malpractice. Candidates appeared at centres including Jagjivan College in Manpur, Gaya Engineering College at Khizersarai, IIM Bodh Gaya, Anugrah Memorial College, Gaya College and Kendriya Vidyalayas.To facilitate students, the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) arranged special bus services from Gaya railway station to key examination centres. The buses operated for candidates travelling to the examination centres. One bus was given for the engineering college centre, while students going to Anugrah Memorial college got two services at 8 am and 10 am and three buses operated for Gaya College at 8 am, 9 am and 10 am.Four buses were also deployed for students appearing at IIM Bodh Gaya and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2.SSP Sushil Kumar said, “Special checking drive was conducted at hotels, lodges, dharamshalas, bus stands and other places of accommodation to verify identity of examinees and those accompanying them”.Punit Raj, who appeared for the exam at the MBA block of Gaya College centre, said, “I did well in the exam. From my point of view, Physics was lengthy and difficult, while Chemistry was moderate. I found Biology somewhat easy, though a few questions were of moderate difficulty. Arrangements at the centre were good and the candidates appeared at the exam in a student friendly atmosphere”, Punit said.
