Nepalese man wandering without food or money rescued by Delhi Police after attempting suicide at park

NEW DELHI: Timely intervention by Delhi Police helped rescue a 24-year-old Nepalese man who allegedly attempted suicide at a park in Defence Colony, officials said on Friday.According to sources, the man had been wandering around south Delhi for the past four days without money or food after losing contact with his friend.On Friday, police received information that a man had climbed a tree at Hudco Park and was about to take his life, officials said.A team from the Defence Colony police station immediately rushed to the spot and managed to bring the man down safely, they said.During questioning, the man told police that he had come to Delhi from Nepal in search of a job. However, after getting separated from his friend, he was left without money or food and had been wandering around the city for the past four days.After counselling, police handed over the man to the Embassy of Nepal, officials said.(With Agency Inputs)
