Dhanbad: A portion of an old boundary wall near De Nobili School, CMRI, collapsed onto the road on Tuesday, with residents blaming continuous rainfall. Nobody was injured in the incident. .Witnesses said the wall suddenly gave way, burying five two-wheelers parked nearby. Several parents had crossed the lane minutes earlier. Residents feared a tragedy during school dispersal, when students and parents crowd the area. The lane serves drop-offs and pick-ups at De Nobili and nearby Carmel School.Principal Tanushree Banerjee said the wall was old and apparently collapsed due to rain. Classes were in progress at the time of the incident. School staff and Dhanbad Municipal Corporation personnel cleared debris and restored movement. Residents sought inspections of ageing walls near schools and busy roads.
