Dhanbad: Marking the 80th Independence Day, the Dhanbad district administration has restored two landmark govt vehicles that once defined its official presence: the deputy commissioner’s ambassador (JH 10 H 0055) and the senior superintendent of police’s Maruti Gypsy (JH 10 C 0022).Restored under the supervision of DC Aditya Ranjan and SSP Prabhat Kumar, the vehicles are now displayed at the Collectorate for public viewing. For decades, they served as familiar symbols of governance, law-and-order response, policy decisions and public service in the district.DC Ranjan said, “The administration chose to preserve the vehicles after they became obsolete for official use. Their denting, painting, interiors, engine components, lights and official logos have been refurbished to retain their vintage character.”SSP Kumar said, “The effort goes beyond restoration, aiming to share Dhanbad’s administrative pride and history with citizens. The white ambassador, long associated with the Indian Administrative Service, and the Maruti Gypsy, known for quick police response and field operations, have been placed together to reflect coordination between the civil administration and police.”
