Ramgarh: Police on Friday returned 61 recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners under the third phase of its special initiative, Operation Bharosa, officials said.SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said the phones were traced from Ramgarh and neighbouring districts, including Ranchi, Hazaribag, Chatra, Bokaro, Palamu and Garhwa. Police used Sanha entries and complaints registered on the CEIR portal to track the handsets.A district-level programme was organised for the handover, where police also explained the CEIR portal and the process for filing online complaints about lost mobiles.“To further strengthen public trust in police, Ramgarh police is continuously running a special drive for recovery of lost mobiles and handing them over to their owners,” the SP said.Police station-wise recoveries in phase three were: Ramgarh-seven, Rajrappa-seven, Patratu-10, Mandu-four, Gola-five, Bhurkunda OP-seven, Barkakana OP-five, Basal-one, Barlanga-three, Kujju OP-five, West Bokaro OP-three and Bhadaninagar OP-four.Under Operation Bharosa, Ramgarh police have recovered 245 mobiles in three months — 125 in the first phase, 59 in the second and 61 in the third.“The effort of Ramgarh police is commendable. We had lost hope of getting our phone back,” said a beneficiary after receiving his phone. Police said such campaigns will continue in future with the motto “Seva Hi Lakshya.”
