PPU PhD exam to begin from Sept 15

Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) has announced the schedule for the PhD course work examination for the academic session 2024-25. Around 1,100 research scholars from the arts, science and commerce streams will appear in the mandatory examination on Sept 15, 16 and 18.According to PPU examination controller Manoj Kumar, the examination will be conducted in Patna in the first sitting from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. The Research Methodology paper will be conducted on Sept 15, followed by the Research and Publication Ethics paper on Sept 16. The subject-specific examination will be held on Sept 18.In the science stream, candidates from physics, chemistry, zoology, botany, mathematics and electronics will take the examination. Arts scholars from economics, English, Hindi, geography, history, home science, music, philosophy, political science, psychology, Sanskrit, sociology, Urdu, ancient history and archaeology, personnel management and industrial relations (PMIR), Maithili and Pali will also appear, Kumar said adding commerce stream candidates will participate as well.The university said research guides-cum-supervisors will be allotted only to candidates who clear the mandatory course work examination. Kumar said the course work examination is an essential requirement under PhD regulations before scholars proceed with their research activities in the respective stream and subject, adding that arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the examination under the supervision of VC Upendra Prasad Singh .
