Ranchi police to restrict traffic for Adivasi Mahotsav processions

Ranchi: Traffic movement will be restricted and diverted on several city roads on Sunday for Adivasi Mahotsav, during which large tribal jatras are scheduled to pass through major key intersections on their way to Bapu Vatika in Morabadi.The processions will move via Jail Chowk, Karamtoli Chowk, senior superintendent of police (SSP) residence crossing and Gutka Chowk before reaching the venue.SP (traffic) Rakesh Singh said movement of all types of vehicles would be prohibited during the jatra on stretches from Jail Chowk to Karamtoli Chowk, Karamtoli Chowk to SSP residence More and from SSP residence More to Bapu Vatika.Vehicles bringing participants from Khunti, Jamshedpur, Gumla, Lohardaga and Ramgarh districts, and from Ratu, Pithoria and Kanke areas of Ranchi, will reach Ranchi University parking ground via Kanke Ring Road, Chandini Chowk and Ram Mandir, Singh added.Vehicles from Dhurwa, Hinoo, Argora, Main Road, Radium Road, Lalpur, Kantatoli and Harmu will take New Market-Hotlips Chowk-Sido Kanho Road route to RU football ground.Vehicles arriving from Bodeya Road will be parked at Tribal Welfare Research Institute, while those from Tatisilwayi, Khelgaon, Booty More, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences and Bariatu will be parked at DIG ground.Singh said, “The traffic would be stopped and diverted in other areas as well, if needed. I appeal to the citizens of Ranchi to avoid using their four-wheelers around Morabadi and from Jail Chowk to the SSP residence More. if possible.”
