Tambaram police cracks down on ganja, illegal liquor sale

As part of a crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal liquor sales, the Tambaram city police seized 21kg of ganja and 1,900 Tapentadol tablets from multiple locations on Thursday and Friday. Police also arrested multiple suspects involved in narcotics distribution and cyber fraud cases. The raids were carried out by teams from the Semmanchery police station, Guduvanchery Prohibition Enforcement Wing and Kundrathur police station. Tambaram commissioner of police Sanjay Kumar said strict surveillance and surprise inspections would continue against offences such as ganja trafficking, illegal sale of narcotics, unlawful liquor sales, public drinking, bars operating beyond permitted hours and drunken driving
