CHENNAI: Political leaders in Tamil Nadu went into an uneasy sleep on Tuesday night, after more than a month of high-decibel campaign of claims, blames and fairy tales ended. After kicking up dust in the hinterlands, bandwagons took leaders to their home constituencies for the last lap. In an apparent reference to TVK president Vijay, EPS said in a video, “Don’t make the mistake of voting for the wrong person.”Vijay wound up two hours before the 6pm deadline, after addressing TVK functionaries in Chennai. “For once, do what I tell you,” Vijay appealed to voters, “and I will do what you tell me for five years.”NTK chief Seeman signed off with a pointed remark at Vijay, questioning the political choices of educated youth. Former BJP state president K Annamalai rode a bike with Coimbatore North candidate Vanathi riding pillion. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal too campaigned for their allies on the last day.
