CHENNAI: The two-day Tamizhar 4.0 Business Conclave, organized by the Confederation of Tamil Agriculture, Commerce, Industry and Services (CTACIS), began in Chennai on Friday. The conclave was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu assembly speaker J C D Prabhakar. The two-day event is expected to facilitate more than 100 business networking sessions, business meetings and commercial agreements. More than 500 Tamil entrepreneurs and business leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and the European Union countries, with which India has entered into a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and from countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with which Tamil Nadu has close industrial and commercial ties, are attending the conference. The conclave will serve as a platform to help expand the manufactured products and services from one city in Tamil Nadu to other cities, to other states in India and to global markets. “We have named this conference ‘Tamizhar 4.0’ classifying the historical journey of the Tamils into four distinct phases. The period up to the Third Tamil Sangam, during which Tamil language and virtue flourished, is classified as Tamizhar 1.0. The era of the great Chera, Chola and Pandya kingdoms, which built empires, established maritime trade routes and created foundational infrastructure for agriculture and water management, is classified as Tamizhar 2.0,” said CTACIS founder Fr Jagath Gaspar. “The period of the broad pursuit of social justice and the expansion of education led by Vallalar Swamigal, Thanthai Periyar, Karmaveerar Kamarajar and Perarignar Anna has been classified as Tamizhar 3.0. The era representing the Tamil dream of achieving a great renaissance across multiple fields-including economic self-reliance, excellence in higher education, global recognition and achievements in industry, commerce, knowledge sectors, language, arts and culture, has been classified as Tamizhar 4.0,” he added.
