Patna: Patna traffic police on Sunday announced a special traffic diversion plan for Aug 24 in view of a programme at the Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library, aimed at ensuring smooth traffic movement and minimising inconvenience to commuters.Under the plan, vehicles travelling from Kargil Chowk towards Gai Ghat will be required to use the double-decker bridge. Vehicles coming from Krishna Ghat towards Kargil Chowk will be diverted through the double-decker bridge near Patna College Gate.Movement of commercial vehicles, e-rickshaws and autos from Khaitan Market, GM Road South, Makhaniya Kuan South and Khazani Road South towards Ashoka Rajpath has been restricted. Movement of all types of vehicles towards Kargil Chowk from beneath the Ashoka Rajpath double-decker bridge will also remain prohibited during the diversion period.Traffic superintendent of police (SP) Sagar Kumar Jha said, “Vehicles arriving from Gai Ghat will be diverted through Khazanchi Road North and routed towards Gandhi Maidan via Khazanchi Road South, Machhua Toli and Thakurbari.”Patna Traffic Police has appealed to commuters and drivers to follow the diversion arrangements and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in the area. “The restrictions have been put in place to maintain traffic flow and ensure the safety of the public during the programme at Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library on Monday,” the SP said.
