Patna: A bomb threat email sent to the passport office and post office located in the Sub-Post Office Complex in Maner Municipal Council area of Patna on Monday triggered panic and led to heightened security in the area.According to police, information was received in the morning about an email threatening to blow up the passport office and post office under Maner police station area. Acting swiftly and following the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), police evacuated the entire complex and initiated security measures and began investigation.The email read, “A bomb has been planted on the premises of the General Post Office and passport office, which may explode at any time.” According to the post superintendent, the email was sent from an unknown ID.Upon receiving the information, a police team arrived at the scene. The entire premises were sealed, and a search operation was launched. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) from Patna was immediately called to the spot. The team conducted a thorough search of the passport office, post office, and the surrounding area. No suspicious object was found.Speaking about the incident, Patna SP (West) Sanket Kumar said after the threat email was received, necessary action was taken. He said police were investigating the origin of the email and that all necessary legal action would be taken based on the findings.“The police are currently probing all aspects of the case,” he added.
