Dhanbad: Administrative work at Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU) here was disrupted on Monday after activists of the All-India Students’ Association (AISA) locked down the administrative building of the university to protest the alleged delay in fulfilment of various long pending demands of the students.Ram Kumar Singh, vice-chancellor of BBKMU, could not enter the varsity premises for several hours due to the protest. He said, “Efforts are underway to introduce LL.M. studies, establish a central library in the name of former Dhanbad MP A K Roy, and implement other academic development projects. The administration is trying to address the issues in a phased manner,” he said.AISA state secretary Ritesh Mishra said protests were called off following VC’s assurance.
