Shilpotsav at DMC Mall celebrates J’khand’s handmade heritage

Dhanbad: A two-day ‘Shilpotsav’ showcasing Jharkhand’s rich artistic and craft traditions began at DMC Mall in Bank More on Sunday, bringing artisans, artists and young learners from across the state under one roof. The festival features handmade products, traditional artworks and live demonstrations, drawing visitors keen to explore indigenous crafts and creative skills.Artisans from Koderma, Ranchi and different parts of Dhanbad have set up stalls at the venue. Students of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ School, Govindpur, are also participating, displaying products prepared through their creative activities. Organisers said the festival offers a platform to both established artisans and children to present their talent before the public.After inaugurating the event, Dhanbad DC Aditya Ranjan inspected the stalls and interacted with participants. He showed particular interest in the mask-making stall of Dhanbad-based theatre organisationThe Shilpotsav is expected to encourage local artisans while giving visitors a close look at Jharkhand’s traditional art forms and children’s creativity. It will continue at the Bank More mall for two days this week.
