Ranchi: Jharkhand governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar interacted with 36 foreign students studying at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad at Lok Bhawan in Ranchi on Tuesday.The students pursuing PhD, M.Tech and other programmes across various disciplines at the institute under the ICCR Scholarship Programme participated in the interaction.During the interaction, governor Gangwar highlighted India’s ancient history and rich educational heritage and encouraged the foreign scholars to learn from India’s modern development journey and to understand and share India’s experiences in the context of their respective countries.He said that when these scholars assume important decision-making roles in their respective countries in the future, they can draw upon their experiences and association with India and play a meaningful role in further strengthening the friendly relations between India and their respective countries.The interaction highlighted the role of the ICCR Scholarship Programme in promoting international education, cultural exchange and stronger people-to-people connections between India and the rest of the world while contributing to greater mutual understanding and cultural exchange.The session provided an opportunity for the foreign students to interact with the governor and share their academic experiences, as well as their experiences of studying and living in India.
