Patna: The father of the alleged main accused involved in a minor girl’s molestation case has been arrested in a more than two-decade-old double murder case. The accused, Ganauri Yadav, was wanted in a sensational double murder that took place in 2003 and had been absconding for 21 years. His arrest happened when police raided his house to catch his son.According to Jamui Police, “Nandan Yadav, son of Ganauri Yadav, is the main accused in the recent Jamui molestation case. He is accused of brutally assaulting a Class 10 student in the middle of the road and openly molesting his minor girl-friend. The incident had sparked outrage in the district.”After the FIR was registered, police conducted a raid at Nandan’s house. When Nandan was arrested, he tried to escape from custody. In the ensuing encounter and retaliatory firing by police, Nandan was shot in the leg and overpowered.It was during the probe after Nandan’s arrest that police decided to check the criminal history of his family. During the investigation and interrogation, a shocking truth came out.Police found that his father, Ganauri, is a named accused in a double murder case of April 3, 2003.On that day, in Pratappur village, two persons, DP Yadav and Pune Yadav, were brutally murdered over a business dispute. The mother of the deceased had named Ganauri as an accused. Since then, he had been evading arrest.Police arrested him immediately after his son’s arrest and sent him to judicial custody on Wednesday.
