Mumbai: Borivli Police registered an FIR against a police constable and two others for allegedly assaulting a lawyer on a street outside the Borivali magistrate court premises. While the incident occurred on Monday, the FIR was registered early Wednesday after a protest by advocates from the Borivli bar association. Police have also registered a counter FIR against the lawyer on charges of obstructing a govt servant from doing his duty. No arrests have been made.The lawyer has stated in his complaint that he was waiting on his motorcycle for an associate to join him when he had an altercation with an autorickshaw driver between 8.15 pm and 8.30 pm. He added that the constable subsequently intervened and roughed him up. However, the constable’s complaint says that the lawyer was inebriated and beat up the auto driver, also using abusive language with the constable.
