Bokaro: A Bokaro court on Tuesday sentenced 49-year-old Binod Tiwari to life imprisonment for killing one Sonu Shukla after a clash during a wedding procession in 2013. The court of additional district judge-I (ADJ-I), Bokaro, also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Tiwari, a resident of Shivpuri under Balidih police station area.The incident occurred around 10:15 pm on Nov 24, 2013, in Balidih. According to a press release, an argument between Tiwari and Shukla at the function escalated into violence. Tiwari attacked Shukla with an iron rod and a sharp-edged weapon, causing a deep leg injury.Shukla was admitted to Bokaro General Hospital, where he died during treatment. After examining evidence and hearing arguments, the court held Tiwari guilty and pronounced the sentence, ending nearly 13 years of legal proceedings. The prosecution said the attack followed the heated exchange in the procession and proved fatal despite medical care that night.
