Bokaro: Bokaro General Hospital (BGH), owned and maintained by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), strengthened its cardiac, critical care, neurosurgery and ENT services with the inauguration of advanced medical equipment and facilities here on Saturday.BSL director in-charge Priya Ranjan inaugurated the equipment in the presence of doctors and senior BSL officials. The additions are aimed at improving patient care across key departments and reducing the need for shifting patients during specialised procedures.BSL chief of communication Manikant Dhan said, “The cardiology department has introduced a Treadmill Test (TMT) machine to assess cardiac performance during controlled exercise.”In the Critical Care Unit (CCU), BGH has installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit to provide highly purified water required for dialysis. The facility will help critically ill patients undergo dialysis inside the CCU whenever needed, avoiding transfer to other floors or separate dialysis units. The neurosurgery department has received a high-speed neurosurgical drill system for precise bone removal during complex brain and spinal surgeries. The ENT department has introduced an Integrated Powered Drill and Debrider System for procedures including Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, nasal polyp removal and mastoidectomy.“The new facilities are expected to enhance BGH’s capacity to provide specialised and advanced treatment to patients,” said Dhan.
