Bokaro: A 30-year-old man allegedly killed his father, 64, with a sharp-edged farming tool after being reprimanded over his drinking habit at Kari Pani village under Tiliya panchayat late Friday, police said.The accused, identified as Arjun Karmali, had returned home in an inebriated condition late at night after attending a family function at his maternal uncle’s house. His father, Jaylal Karmali, who had long been distressed by his son’s alcoholism, rebuked him. Enraged Arjun picked up a sickle kept in the house and hit his father on the head. Jaylal died on the spot, area residents said.The accused was caught by the villagers, who called the police.Officer in-charge of the Jageshwar Bihar police station, Prakash Yadav, said, “The body has been sent for postmortem and the accused taken into custody. Investigation is under way.”
